FTX announced as naming rights sponsor of Australian Blockchain Week 2022
FTX Trading Limited will sponsor the naming rights sponsorship for Australian Blockchain Week 2022. It will take place from March 21 through 25.
Blockchain Australia is Australia’s peak industry network. It brings together academia, government, and industry to discuss the potential of blockchain technology.

Australian Blockchain Week will feature over 200 speakers at 75 events, including FTX CEO Sam BankmanFried. FTX, a Bahamian-based cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform, was launched in May 2019. According to Coinranking, the exchange had $1.41 billion in 24-hour trading volume at the time of publication.
Steve Vallas is the Chief Executive Officer at Blockchain Australia. He said that the appointment occurs at a “watershed” moment as the Australian blockchain ecosystem continues its mainstream expansion.
This year’s event comes at a crucial time for all market players. There is growing interest from major financial institutions in blockchain technology and signs of increased regulation.
Bankman-Fried stated that this partnership is the first time the company has shifted its focus to the support of “long-term growth in the Australian market.”
“We are looking forward to participating in discussions to advance local industry, better protect and protect consumers, as well as enabling financial institutions grow and thrive within the crypto industry.”

The Australian Blockchain Week will be held shortly after the address of the businessman at the Asian Financial Forum Jan. 11, in which he called upon regulators to create one framework for digital assets.
Bankman-Fried was the leader of FTX in December 2021. FTX ranked 11th with a $25 billion valuation.
This deal is the latest example of crypto exchanges investing big to reach an Australian audience. Yesterday, Crypto.com, a crypto exchange from Singapore, agreed to pay $30 Million to sponsor the Australian Football League.
